I blame television for my impatience. Every show I watch always ends an important episode on a huge cliff hanger. Thus making me wait till the next episode for the resolution. It makes me watch the episode again, stream promos for the next episode, and read any article on the show to try and get some extra information. Then I proceed to check every social media outlet related to the show or topic and spend more time retweeting and liking everything.
Treating your event similar to a cliff-hanger episode could help you drive up ticket sales and media impressions. Want people to tune into your next announcement or post? Use catchy slogans and pictures that reflect how fun or even how serious your cause is. Give people a time line for information releases or maybe throw in a puzzle for them to solve. Anything to get them to come back.
