Thinking About The Influence Of Other People On My Life And Career

Home/Inspiration/Thinking About The Influence Of Other People On My Life And Career

My parents gifted me with a great love for social gatherings.  We were often surrounded by family and/or friends, sharing stories, telling jokes, playing music, singing and dancing.  My Dad had a tremendous sense of humour and could captivate his audience with WW 11 tales and overseas adventures and then throw in a few Robert Service poems recitals to boot.

My Mother was a survivor.  She kept food on the table and money in the bank.  She worked hard, always had an ‘ace in the hole’ and made sure we had a roof over our heads.  She was tenacious and resilient.  She never gave up and passed on her work ethic to me and my siblings.

I owe much of the values I hold dear to these two people. They gave me life, love, laughter, and they gave me a passion for community building and event planning.  I am proud to have my parents in my memory as my very first mentors.
