PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise and the Business Centre recognized the achievements of Northeastern Ontario women at the Enterprising Women event held March 8th, 2018 here in North Bay. These awards honoured women who have grown their business, community or region through cooperation, ownership, integrity, responsibility, or peer support.
Can you imagine the level of energy in a ballroom filled with energetic, entrepreneurial women, determined to not only succeed in business, but to support like-minded women in their entrepreneurial endeavours? I can only describe it as very uplifting, very exciting, and… very loud!
A full day with trade show exhibitors, keynote speaker, Nicole Graham Shank, with practical tips for Social Media, and speed mentoring workshops, the evening was topped off with a Gala, and keynote inspirational speaker, Zara Al-Harazi, one of Canada’s most successful business woman. A story about her road to leadership, with all its bumps and lumps, she travelled a road of incredible obstacles. She freely shared her determination and passion for success, discussed her unique approach to entrepreneurship and leadership, as well as her personal experience as an immigrant to Canada and her unique experiences in the business world. The excitement climbed when the awards were presented as there were many nominees and lots of support for everyone. It was a very humbling experience and great honour for me to win the new business of the year award, and I was equally humbled and honoured to feel the support and the good wishes of everyone in the room. A night to remember, and to cherish!
